More 'Amazing Spider-Man' Stuff: Stunt Featurette and Two ClipsMore 'Amazing Spider-Man' Stuff: Stunt Featurette and Two Clips

If you're enjoying the deluge of material making absolutely sure that audiences are ready to sit down for a rebooted Spider-Man, then you'll be most please with what is quickly becoming a daily addition to the marketing of The Amazing Spider-Man.  Yesterday saw not one, but two clips from the new telling of Spider-Man's already-familiar origin story and today doubles down with two more official excerpts, both dialogue scenes.  Before those, though, there's a behind the scenes featurette that's all about making your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swing all dangerous-like.

This brief video debuted at the film's facebook page.  You'd think that a big movie's director would be the dude overseeing action sequences, but more often than not on a movie of this size, the second-unit director is the guy on set for the action shots, particularly when you're not dealing with a close-up on a movie star.  The second-unit director here is legendary stunt coordinator and stuntman Vic Armstrong, whose many notable credits include doubling for Harrison Ford on Raiders of the Lost Ark and Christopher Reeve on Superman.

Now for the clippage.  You'll find no webslinging here.  Instead, in this first bit, Peter Parker introduces himself to Dr. Curt Connors while on a field trip to the Oscorp labs.  True to character, Peter's a brilliant little science nerd, but Gwen Stacy, an Oscorp intern, has even better grades than Pete, it seems.  Thanks to MSN for this one.

Here's another scene with Parker and a Stacy, but this time it's Gwen's dad, NYPD's Captain Stacy.  Pete, who happens to be dating old George's beautiful daughter, decides to earnestly inform the cop that the city's reptilian menace is, in fact, the mutated Dr. Connors.  As you'd expect, Stacy is incredulous.

The clip above is from Metacafe.

Both Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are both putting in performances that look just right, and if Sony's planned trilogy adheres to the comic books, then future films could pack a pretty big emotional gutpunch between the two of them.  Fingers crossed.

So yeah, you know that Marc Webb directs from a script by James Vanderbilt, with revisions from Steve Kloves and probably at least one other scribe. Rhys Ifans plays Dr. Connors, and the supporting cast includes Denis Leary, Sally Field, Martin Sheen,  Irrfan Khan, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, and Embeth Davidtz.

July 3rd.  That's when The Amazing Spider-Man hits and the promotion ends.
