Hardy plays one of three Bondurant Brothers, a trio of very successful bootleggers in Depression-Era Virginia who must resort to some serious violence to save themselves and their criminal enterprise. In one clip below, Hardy's Forrest counsels his younger sibling, played by Shia LaBeouf, while Jason Clarke looks on as Howard Bondurant. In the second, Forrest takes an immediate dislike to an almost unrecognizable Guy Pearce, who seems to be channeling his 2006 performance as Andy Warhol in Factory Girl a little bit.
The clip below is here thanks to Hulu.

Last week we saw a series of character posters highlighting the film ensemble, which you can view by clicking here. And last month, we saw a theatrical trailer highlighting that the movie looks pretty damn good. Check that out with a click here.
They're not in either of the Hardy-centric clips above, but the cast of Lawless also includes Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Noah Taylor, and Dane DeHaan, last seen lashing out with telekinetic powers in Chronicle earlier this year. All of those actors are working for The Proposition and The Road director John Hillcoat, who reunites with Nick Cave, the writer of the former and composer of the latter.
Lawless arrives in theaters on August 29th.
