Street Fighter X Tekken Poor Sales Due to "Cannibalism" - Capcom

Capcom has blamed "cannibalism" for their less than expected sales projection for Street Fighter X Tekken.
The developer/publisher said in a Q&A:
Sales of Street Fighter X Tekken have fallen short of our plan. We believe one of [the] causes is cannibalism because of the large number of other games in this genre that were launched within a short time.
Last week, Capcom revealed the fighter has sold 1.4 million units since its launch during the early stages of March.
A game that did achieve a more favorable commercial performance for the firm is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The Slant Six-developed multiplayer-centric shooter has shipped two million units. They also said how allowing a western developer to create a spin-off has clearly paid off upon considering said sales figures.
"Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has reached shipments of 2 million units. This shows the success of our decision to try the new approach of using an alliance with an overseas development company," said the firm.
