It's been XV years since Final Fantasy VII was unleashed on the world, an RPG in a popular series that took everybody's expectations to the next level. Graphically, musically and in terms of plot and character, people who had never dreamt of playing a role-playing game were blown away by what their PlayStation (with a little help from Squaresoft) could do. It went on to become one of the most loved games ever, an iconic star on a console full of iconic stars.
And to celebrate that XVth anniversary, Famitsu will be running a major feature on the game, no doubt including interviews and granting a hitherto unseen look at the game we all know so well. Perhaps there'll even be another mention of that HD remake, "it's not happening and never will."
It just so happens that they're also celebrating the Xth anniversary of XI and will be running a feature on that as well. Keep your eyes peeled, Final Fantasy fans, there may be something exciting on its way.
